Galleria Continua showcased a solo exhibition featuring Jannis Kounellis, a prominent figure in Italian post-war art with a career spanning approximately three and a half decades. Kounellis has left his mark on the global art scene, having worked across five continents and found his place in some of the most esteemed art collections and museums worldwide.

Kounellis’ artistic journey was marked by his early exploration of a new spatial dimension. He discovered a significant amount of coal piled on the floor of his studio and recognized it as a key element in redefining artistic practice. He ventured into using materials that were typically non-pictorial, drawn directly from real life. This choice introduced him to the forms, colors, and unique scents of natural or technological elements. These materials were then transformed into poetic energies through the mechanisms of imagination, mythology, culture, classical and religious ideals, and passionate expression.
